9 Reasons Peco InspX Stands Out

Today, we’re talking about differentiation: as in, what makes us different from any other X-ray machine company. We’ll cover how we can do a better job working for you. We’ll give you nine reasons we should be working for you.

So, what makes Peco InspX different?

  1. Service and Parts

We are obsessive about making sure we’ve stocked the parts you need. Our remote service set-up is renowned in the industry in supplying the best capabilities to customers. That means we’re available 24/7 and we doubly make sure that we answer the phone in less than 30 seconds. That kind of commitment to our customers means that about 95% of the time, we can fix your issue over the phone without rolling a truck out to your facility. This makes our cost of ownership inexpensive, and your up-time great.

  1. Imaging Technology

A picture is worth a thousand words – and maybe even a thousand dollars.

When you buy an X-ray system, a lot of what you’re investing in its imaging technology. There’s an impression in the X-ray industry that all vendors buy the same components, and so all systems are more-or-less the same. Spoiler alert: that’s not true. We use components that are specially made for us. We’ve tailored our high-resolution capabilities to make sure they’re top-notch because we especially care about the images.

We’re able to better guarantee that our clearer images mean fewer false rejects. You’ll see a wide range of detectable foreign materials with these systems (even aluminum, one of the hardest materials to image!).

  1. Software

We’re in Silicon Valley – of course, our software is great! But seriously – we use advanced machine-learning algorithms. And because our image resolution is so much clearer, we can find things no one else can find by using those algorithms.

Our software is easy to use with a low barrier to entry. The set-up process is fully automated. If you find a defect, you just need to push a button for the machine to analyze it.

  1. Turn-Key Engineering

When you’re buying X-ray technology, you’re not just buying a machine: you’re buying a solution to guarantee that your product is safe. If you would prefer an X-ray machine out of the box, maybe one day you’ll be able to buy it from Home Depot. But most customers want a thoughtfully engineered solution that meets their rigorous requirements – maybe even customized. When you set up our systems, they’re already ready to go. There’s little time spent trying to integrate them into your existing systems; because we understand that you need immediate solutions.

  1. Digital Quality Management

The basic idea is we’re automating the process of using the machine, which dramatically reduces (and potentially eliminates) the chances of the inspection process not working correctly.

The system is constantly recording everything that’s happening, including the images of all the inspected containers. That means if anything ever goes wrong, we can re-inspect those images electronically. So if you feel a product is contaminated, you don’t have to put it completely through the inspection machine again – you can double-check the stored images.

  1. Non-Destructive Machine Challenging

Today, you’ll often seed a product and periodically your QA people will put it through the machine for rejection. The challenge with that is two-fold:

  • This is a process that only happens at discrete periods of time. So, if anything in the meantime goes wrong, you’re exposed.
  • The quality of the challenge process is largely determined by the people running it. What you want is to be continually ensured of the most robust challenging.

Our machines can actually create artificially seeded containers that will run through the machine and make sure it’s imaging correctly. This is a big advancement: imagine that every three products, you run a virtual challenge. You also know the machine’s working well.

  1. Remote Performance Monitoring

Our systems continuously tell us whether they’re okay and if there’s an issue that we should proactively address. We don’t have to be in the room to check – the machine gives reports even if we’re remote.

We even have apps that you can install! There are QA people that live at home and periodically drive to the plant to check things in the middle of the night. You don’t have to do that – you just need to download the app, and it will tell you continuously if the machine is working correctly.

  1. Image Serialization

Imagine that every container you make is serialized, or uniquely numbered. You can go to your Peco InspX machine and type in the exact image number you need. This is helpful in cases when you have a complaint – you can look at the specific product, at the specific time it was inspected or when the issue may have occurred. (Remember, we store all our images!)

  1. Reject Coding

One of the most absolute levels of traceability that the right containers are being ejected is a matching number scheme between the X-ray system and the end product. Imagine that there’s an image on the X-ray system that shows you “Image Number 5” (based on our image serialization capabilities). Then, you can check the reject bin and find product Number 5 – and on it, there will be a code. That printed code will have the serialization number, a description of the foreign contaminant, and a date and time stamp for the rejection.

This gives you 100% assurance that the correct product was rejected.

You can achieve all these capabilities with our systems. We encourage you to learn more about what they can do for you. Our white papers and webinars are downloadable from our website and go into even greater detail than what’s listed here in the blog.
