Peco InspX Announces Two Innovative Seal Integrity Solutions for Pouches
FREMONT, CALIFORNIA —August 19, 2015 — Peco InspX is pleased to announce the commercial availability of two seal integrity inspection solutions for pouches. Both of these solutions are designed to rapidly and accurately inspect liquid, gas or combination liquid and gas filled bags. Leaky pouches are problematic not only because of product spoilage but also due to collateral damage to adjacent pouches.
The PouchScan system employs an innovative servo motor squeezing approach that learns the ”squeeze profile” of a pouch and can readily detect leaks as small as 1mm pinholes while inspecting pouches inlineat speeds up to 160 pouches per minute.
Peco InspX also offers the PouchScan Thermal, which provides accurate thermal imaging system for products that are warm/hot sealed relative to the surrounding environment. The PouchScan Thermal can operate at higher speeds than the Pouchscan and find seal imperfections that are between 1mm and 3 mm in width. Both machines are designed to offer a very low false reject rate.
Like all Peco InspX products, both of these leak detection systems offer simple setup and are carefully designed for ease of use. Both systems can be rapidly “trained” by running few leak-free pouches through the system and it is ready to operate.
These new PouchScan offerings complement Peco InspX’s existing Vac Trac III dud detection solution, which is designed to provide seal integrity verification on containers with metal enclosure seals, such as metal cans or glass jars with metal lids.
